At Kirchweih, the kinder and youth groups march with a “Strauss”, a rosemary bush decorated with ribbons. The strauss is bid on by the boys and the crowd and is awarded to the highest bidder–usually purchased by a young man for his sweetheart! The kids and youth love this fest, as it is lively with marching and dancing– and a real sight to see for the crowd! There is a $10.00 donation per person. Dinner is available for a nominal price. Parking is free and dancing for all is available after the Stauss is awarded.
